About us.

Uthman Dan Fodio Open College (UDFOC )is an Islamic College offering undergraduate and graduate studies through distance learning based on the amanah (trust) to spread Islamic knowledge based on the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw), in the framework of mainstream Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama’a.

We utilize contemporary methods of distance to provide the next best thing to direct learning.

UDFOC shares mutual recognition with Al-Imam Al-Ouzai University of Lebanon (http://ouzai.org), and has signed memorandums of understanding to enrolled students for undergraduate and graduate degrees in Islamic Studies. It is also working to establish academic ties and mutual recognition with other Islamic universities around the world.

FOUNDER

Dr. Muhammad Liwaudeen Ahmad has had a distinguished career promoting and
developing the teaching of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Ghana and United States.
A native of Ghana trained and received his PhD in Arabic and Islamic Studies
at the Al-Imam Al-Ouzai University of Lebanon and Religious Studies at Hartford Seminary, CT.
He taught Arabic and Islamic Studies in the Islamic Schools in Kumasi, Ghana.
He is a Visiting Adjunct Professor of Arabic (TAFL) at Community College of Philadelphia,
PA and Taqwa Seminary Arabic Institute, Plano, TX. He is also Regional Director of the
Al-Imam Al-Ouzai University of Lebanon Distance Learning Center of West Africa.                          

He is also a member of some educational and professional institutions such  as:
